I am looking for information about CHAPA families originating in Dr. Gonzales, Nuevo Leon. The town of Dr. Gonzales used to be named Hacienda de Ramos before it was changed in 1880. My great-great grandparents were probably born in that town. Their names are LEONARDO CHAPA and ESTEFANA BENAVIDEZ. LEONARDO died on June 6, 1927 and ESTEFANA died on March 13, 1923 and they are both buried in Robstown, Texas. Their son, ELEUTERIO BENAVIDEZ CHAPA was born on February 19, 1875 and was baptised at La Asuncion in Marin, a town not far from Dr. Gonzales/Hacienda de Ramos. He died on June 1, 1931 and is buried near Chapman Ranch, just outside of Corpus Christi, Texas. ELEUTERIO married JOSEFA L. TREVINO supposedly born in south Texas and she died on august 21, 1959 and is buried in Corpus Christi. I am looking for any information about this family. Thanks.
