Zachariah Chandler 1790 and 1800 in Greenville Co, SC

There is a Zachariah Chandler listed in 1790 and 1800 in Greenville Co, SC.

1790 - 1 male over 16 and 5 females (Zachariah and wife and four daughters).

1810 - 1 male 0 to 9, 1 male 26 to 44, 2 females 0 to 9, 2 females 10 to 15, 1 female 26 to 44, 1 female 45 and over.

According to 1790 census, this Zachariah Chandler seems to have married c1782. Does anyone have a real clue as to his first wife's name?

Also does anyone have a real clue as to who this Zach Chandler's parents were? Some say a William Chandler.

I know only a little about the SC Chandlers and that some were Quakers. But the JRR-Joseph-Joel went to Greenville Co, SC. But don't know if there is a connection.

Well, Zachariah Chandler removed to Caldwell Co, KY, by 1810 where he married a second time 21 Oct 1817 to Mrs. Elizabeth nee Kelly Boyd. So we know that Zach Chandler's first wife was dead by 1817.

Zachariah Chandler dies Green Co, KY, in 1837 and leaves will.

The puzzle to all of this is that no one has correctly identified Zach Chandler's family and his first wife.

Has any straight-line Chandler male taken the yDNA test? If so, what CFA group did he fall into?

Thanks. Cheryl
