They don't always mention all their children. I had one from another line, and he mentions what seems to be all his children in the Will. Later records show a man with the same name as my ancestor, giving bits of the land my ancestor lived on to his sons. Of course we wondered how he got that land, he was not mentioned in the Will, but further digging shows about one year prior to the writing of my ancestor's will, Sr sold Jr parts of his land for five schillings. Now you don't sell land that cheap if they aren't related. But still Jr was not mentioned in the will.
Back to Joseph Chandler, I agree, I don't think Joseph Chander who died in 1764, is the same Joseph who was baptized in 1700. Not one person has come forward to prove he had any other sons other than Joel and William. Surely if he did, there should have been land records stating the fact, such as my ancestor above did. I am sorry these people are mad that I question the CFA. But in anything I have found no where in the CFA's newsletters is a source of where they got that John and others were Joseph's sons
There should have been a land deal between them, and those who know should come forward and say, Karen, here is and abstract of a land deal between Joseph and John, etc. and here is the source where you can check it out.
Yes, I realize that they all lived in the same county, but
I was told you can't prove they are related just because they are living in the same county, at least that is what
I was told about my Richard Chandler, who just happened to buy land from Joseph Chandler and wife Nancy Ann Turman Chandler.
