I have spent weeks now going over records of Franklin Co. GA. which a Braswell cousin has been sending to me daily as she copies them. No matter what the "experts" say, James, John, Joseph and Richard Chandler of Franklin Co. GA are all related, and quite probable Zachariah Chandler. Past researchers have put James, John and Joseph Chandler with one line of Chandlers and Richard Chandler not being related to them at all. There is no way these four men are not related. There is also a relationship somewhere in the Chandler line, with a Thomas Harrington in Franklin Co. GA. Either he was marrried to a Chandler's dtr. or one of his siblings was married to a Chandler or one of his dtrs was. So many of these records if you see the Chandler name you see Thomas Harrington's name. When you add in the Sewell, Stovall, Turman, Braswell and a couple other names who are mentioned in so many of these records and who are all connected in one way or the other to John, James and Joseph Chandler and/or Richard Chandler, the evidence is overwhelming that these four men and more likely than not Zachariah Chandler of Franklin Co. Ga are all closely related. These individuals have numerous transactions together, they lived at one time on the same piece of property as one or more of the others lived, they sell property to each other, they witness deeds, wills, adminster wills, land transactions for each other over and over again. Why would Richard Chandler & Charity Parks son, Parks Chandler be named administrator of Robert Turman's estate, if there weren't a family relationship? Robert had grown children, he had siblings, etc. so why was Parks named administrator? Because Parks Chandler was married to Robert's dtr. Lucinda Turman. And who was Robert Turman? He was brother to Nancy Ann Turman who was married to the above Joseph Chandler. Who did Susananh Chandler dtr of Joseph and Nancy marry? Samuel C. Sewell a cousin of Matilda, Malinda and Mary Elizabeth Sewell who all married Chandler boys, two of them Richard Chandler's sons, the third dtr. one of the "other" Chandler boys. I could go on forever naming all the reasons why these Chandlers are all one family. I have pages after pages to prove this. So far, I have not seen one iota of proof from anyone claiming otherwise. When I question what is posted on this forum, most everyone quotes the "CFA". When are people going to realize the "CFA" are just like you and I. They are a group of people who got together, formed this association, solicited information from others whether proven or not and solicted new members, and charge you to belong to their "association". They are no more educated, talented, etc, than the rest of us. They are just common every day people just like the rest of us. They have and will continue to make mistakes just like the rest of us. They have published unproven genealogies in their publications. Some they have admitted to, others they ignore. I have spent 15 years looking for my Chandler ancestors and I want to know who my family really was, not what someone who has no stake in my tree telling me who they were. I have worked with several cousins on finding the truth. Three of us are positive that these Franklin Co. GA Chandlers are ours. The others have either given up or are scared to say anything any longer as they get lambasted on this forum by a few posters. If you question what I'm writing make a trip to GA, to the archives, courthouses, libraries, etc. and get the information for yourself and then determine what is what.
