Then we have Robert Chandler/Parthenia Bailey where the "Parks" as a given name abounds. Why would they name a son Parks Chandler? There has to be a connection somewhere with Parks with them. If some of the Chandlers have been given to the wrong family as I feel, and as Linda, you have already proven with your Richard Chandler/Elizabeth Carter, who's to say there aren't other mistakes. All I want is the truth, not just assumptions. All we know for sure is Hezekiah Chandler b. ca. 1757 descendants matched DNA with descendants of Richard Chandler b. 1775. Hez. descendant has him born in VA. From the Hez. descendants I have been in contact with, they know very little on Chandlers before Hezekiah. We don't know where Richard's father Richard b. 1751 was born, it could have been VA it could have been NC. We do know pretty much that Richard 1775 was born in NC. was in Wilkes Co. NC that he married Charity Parks in Wilkes Co. NC and that all the children except for the 2 youngest were born in NC. Richard b 1775 seems to be the Richard Chandler in Buncombe Co. NC in 1800-1810, ages match up with adults and children. There is also a John Chandler in Buncombe and who is reported to have died there in 1825 and who is alleged to be the son of John Chandler and Elizabeth Bottom. Richard 1775 then leaves Buncombe Co. NC for Franklin Co. GA abt 1812, where he buys land from Joseph Chandler and Nancy Turman. It also seems that Richard's son, Parks Chandler, married Lucinda Turman. I still do not believe that John and Elizabeth (Bottom) only had 3 children. William b. abt. 1750; John b. abt. 1752. John is alleged to have died in 1803 in Buncombe Co. NC., & Joseph Chandler born in 1755, married Nancy Turman. These dates are only estimates, they could have been a few years differences in the birth dates. William b. abt. 1750,is alleged to have married Lydia Whorton and moved to Greenville SC. Elizabeth Bottom b. ca. 1730-34, would only have been in her early 20's at this time. Many reproductive years left in her life. And even if she died young, it was highly likely that John, Sr. would have remarried, and had other children. So, who were their other children? And was Richard Chandler b. 1751 one of their sons? Is this why Richard 1775 and/or his descendants are always living near descendants of John Chandler others sons, place after place, state after state? Why they marry into some of the same families? Name children after each other? If so, then that would explain his moves to Buncombe Co. NC, the move to Franklin Co. GA and the move to Carroll Co. GA. Notify Administrator about this message?
