Hello Patsy, I will again reply to your posting here and will respond only to those things that haven't been discussed many, many times before. W/D md. 1752 and had William Jr. born 1753, Daniel born 1756 or before, and Keziah born 1758. Other difinite children Rebecca and David and probable Richard. Perhaps other daughters. Of W.D's known children Richard was the youngest. He seemingly does not appear on any Lunenburg Co, VA, tax lists which was for 16 and up. Age changed in 1777 to 21 and up and some time later changed back to 16. Sixteen-year-olds did a man's work. So Richard seems to have been too young/missed the tax lists before this Chandler family left Lunenburg Co, VA, for Surry Co, NC. In 1784, Richard appears on Surry Co, NC, tax list as 21 and over making his DOB 1763 or earlier but not later. Now 16 years later, Richard listed as 26-44 on the Surry 1780 census, making his DOB 1756-1763. Since he doesn't appear on Lunenburg tax lists, he most likely born after sister Keziah, making DOB 1759-1763. Your 1751 Richard Chandler md. Martha Lindsey not this Richard. Hope this posting stays put without any further complications. Cheryl Notify Administrator about this message?
