An application for a Rev. War pension filed by Josiah Chandler in Wilson County, TN lists Robert and Partheny's children and their dates of birth as:
Bailey Chandler 14 July 1751
Robert Chandler 12 Aug 1753
Partheny Chandler 4 Mar 1758
Frances (Fanny) Chandler 12 July 1760
Josiah Chandler 12 July 1762
Rebecca (Becky) Chandler 19 Feb 1765
Parks Chandler 19 Feb 1767
Ryland Chandler 13 Mar 1769
Sarah Chandler 25 Mar 1772
Pitts Chandler 20 Nov 1775
Isaac Chandler 10 Jan 1777
It also notes that:
Brother Pitts died 28 Mar 1786
Bailey died Apr 1809
All except Robert and Pitts are also included in Robert's 1805 will in Wilson County, TN.
The first move was from Henry Co., Va. to Wilkes Co. NC in 1778 but Bailey very shortly moved on to Newberry Dist, SC and was followed eventually by the others. I believe Parks moved on to Jackson Co., Ga and remained there. It's unclear exactly when this one and that one went to SC. I haven't actually seen the records but a source reported that Robert and family sold their Wilkes County, NC land by 1793 as did the Eddins and Hardmans. William Eddins married Rebecca Chandler and Josiah married William's sister Sarah Eddins. Uriah Hardman married Frances Chandler. Sometime before 1800, all of the Chandlers, Eddins, and Hardmans except Bailey and Parks made the decision to head for Tennessee and set out. The only practical route open to group of this size at that time would have entailed a return to NC, crossing the mountains to Ft. Watauga, TN, crossing the Tennessee Valley to Cumberland Gap, through the Gap and over the Cumberland River, and down the road that generally followed the north bank of the Cumberland into Tennessee. You can't just cut through Indian territory before 1800.
Lots of Chandlers moved around during this period; there are lots of them in NC and SC. I've made no attempt yet to figure them out and can't really help there. I've only traced my own.
