Hello, you say Robert left VA in 1778. Where did he go first to SC or to Wilkes Co, NC? Did he go to TN from SC or from NC? I'm still a little confused as to where Robert and sons lived and when they lived there. Does that make sense?

I see that in 1786 state census Timothy (son), Josiah (son) and Robert are in Wilkes Co, NC. And in 1790 census Wilkes Co, the three of them are still listed, plus some other Chandlers. You state Robert/they owned no land in Wilkes Co after 1793.

Also in Wilkes Co 1790 is a Daniel Chandler. Daniel is not listed as a son of Robert and Parthenia. Do you know who this Daniel is? He remains there through the 1810 census and then is gone. He was born c1755 or earlier according to census. There also appears a Joel Chandler who may be a son to this Daniel. This Joel born c1775-1784.

I am thinking that the mysterious Richard Chandler who married Charity Parks came out of this household, altho I'm sure Daniel was NOT this Richard's father.

I can't find anyone who claims this Daniel. Any help appreciated. Cheryl
