I know I sound like a broken record, but I really believe people need to take a new look at these Chandlers in Wilkes Co. NC. I still feel as if some of these Chandlers have been given to the wrong lines.

Here again, we have two of my Parks (Aaron (1758-1820); John Parks (1750-1822)my 6th great uncles listed with a Joel and Joseph Chandler, who if I listen to most people are not my Chandlers.

Richard Chandler b. 1751 either VA or NC married Martha Linsey/Lindsey. Their son, Richard Chandler b. 1775 married Charity Parks in Wilkes Co. NC.

According to the "other" (I was taken to task for calling them "experts" but that's exactly what two of them stated about themselves to me, as well as others stating this to me about these individuals) Chandler researchers none of these Chandlers in Wilkes (Stokes/Surry) Co. were related to Richard b. 1775. All of Richard's children list their birthplaces as NC except for the last two who were born in GA.

Richard and Charity seem to be the Richard Chandler & family in Buncombe Co. NC in 1800 & 1810, along with a John Chandler (both names are spelled Chanler.)

Shortly afterwards, Richard moved his family to Franklin Co. GA where it just happens some of the "other" Chandlers are living and out of all the people who own land in Franklin Co., GA. Richard just happens to buy land from Joseph Chandler and Nancy Ann Turman, again the "other" Chandlers. These & my Chandlers continue to live in Franklin Co., GA until the new territory previously being the Cherokee Nation, is opened up, and Richard along with some of these "other" Chandlers then move to Carroll Co. GA. There they continue to live amongst, do business with, name children it seems after each other, marry into some of the same families. One being Sewell sisters (two mine, one the "other".)

Then, some of my Chandlers and some of "their" Chandlers move over to AL. At the time it was Benton County which became Calhoun Co. When Cleburne Co. was cut from Calhoun/Benton Co. some of "my" Chandlers and some of "their" Chandlers were now in Cleburne Co. AL.

Back in Carroll Co. GA, part of it is taken to become Haralson Co., GA. Yep, part of "my" Chandlers and part of "their" Chandlers are now in Haralson Co. GA.

Later some of my Haralson Co., GA Chandlers and their families move over to Calhoun Co., AL where some of these "other" Chandlers are still living, and where my mother, her siblings, and I were born.

My grandmother said these other Chandlers were related to her, from back in GA.

Except for a couple of researchers I cannot get anyone to even entertain the idea that something "stinks in Denmark" and it ain't fish.

I know how easy it is to mix up people with the same given names and the same approx. birthdates, especially when it seems they all married spouses of the same names.

Last but not least, Parks Chandler son of Richard and Charity was married to a Lucinda LNU. It has come to my attention that she may have been a "Turman." I'm following up on this lead.

"If" Parks Chandler marry a "Turman"

Joseph Chandler married a Turman

Richard Chandler was father of Parks Chandler. Richard Chandler bought land from this unrelated Joseph Chandler/Nancy Ann Turman.

There has to be a kinship between "these" Chandlers and "my" Chandlers.
