Hello Selena.

Not sure if I contacted you later or not.

I was quite ill for a good while, and moved from SC to NE Georgia during this time. (plus no computer during those years).

Genealogy took a back seat for about 2 or 3 years.

Samuel Chancey who married Prisclia Whitfield December 20, 1835 in Clarke County, near Athens, Ga. was a son of John Chancey and Betty (Elizabeth) (Maiden name unknown) of Clarke County.

John was born in NC about 1783, and we think he was a son of Zachariah Chancey II, but no proof...Zachariah is only shown in one census, 1800 Bladen Co. NC. We think he died and John came to Georgia...but, that is speculation.

The Samuel A. Chancey that married Sarah 'Sallie' Priscilla Chancey (1st cousin) was the son of George RW Chancey, my great uncle from Charlton Co. Ga (Folkston).

Hope you are well...and you have gotten by most of the Chancey stone walls.

Regards,
Robert
