I am not very sure of this information, but the time line and location is about right. I found the obit in my notes. The "widow" may have been a second wife. Waycross Journal Herald Tuesday May 15, 1990 Patterson - Clarence Chancey, Sr., 64, died Monday afternoon at Memorial Hospital, Waycross following a long illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Pierce County Georgia, a retired boilermaker, a member of Offerman Baptist Church, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was the son of Jacob Riley Chancey and Alma Thornton Chancey. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maxine Strickland Chancey, Patterson; five daughters, Mrs. Betty Ann Turnist, Florida, Mrs. Virginia Chancey, Willacoochee, Mrs. Carol Chancey, Savannah, Mrs. Susie Cardwell, Waycross, and Mrs. Karen Walker, Blackshear; five sons, Riley Chancey and Danny Chancey, both of Blackshear, Timmy Chancey and Karl Chancey, both of Offerman, and Kevin Cobb, Savannah; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and several others. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Offerman Baptist Church with the Rev. W. K. Livingston and the Rev. Julian Walker officating. Buriel will be at the Offerman Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Pearson Funeral Home, Blackshear. Notify Administrator about this message?
