My ancestor was Amos Chauncey. He too was born in NC. DOB: 1 May 1797. He married Mary Batten. I believe he is the son of a John Chauncey DOB: ~1765. Do you have more info on John Chauncey being discussed in this thread? I believe this family was a part of the Quaker Community in NC. Thanks for any help in tracking down Amos, John, and their descendents.
