Iris, I am going to try one more time to answer your reply. I am having a very diffucult time posting here sence the changes at the Genforum requiring we be logged in. I have written the powers that be several times, and have recieved no response. I have tried several times to post a reply to you and I do not know what becomes of the post..it never shows up here. Now, I have the Chauncey-Chancey research book by the 3 ladies. Grace, Aleen and Floy Bess. There are some known errors in the book, as there are with any genealogy research, none is 100% accurate. My maternal line of Woodsons was so messed up by a professional genealogist nearly 100 years ago that it took a lot of money and several newer genealogists in the late 1900s to discover the error and correct the lineage. I am aware that the Chauncey-Chancey book has a Dempsey Chancey Jr. in it, however this appears to be an error from a family legend handed down by one family out west. There are no records anywhere that support a second Dempsey Chancey that have been found. If you are satisfied with what the book has in print concerning the lineage of Amos, your Grandfather, then that is all that matters isn't it?... Should I discover anything further that I believe would be of interest to you concerning any of your line, I will be happy to pass it along to you.
