Dear Mrs. McKemy,
Israel Chancey (Chauncey) was the son of Charles Chauncey of Hadely, Massachusetts. There's rather a long family history, starting about the year 1000. The
Chauncey's (de Chauncy) were a prominent family in northern England. Charles Chauncy emigrated to New England in 1639, his son Israel had a son Isaac who had a son Charles who had your Israel (1744-Oct. 15, 1785). I'm writing this by memory and can give you more dates and info when I get home. What is your husband's descent from Israel?
I descend from his son Roswell (to Hiram to Calvary to David H. to Charles C. to Charles C., Jr. to me). I look forward to hearing from you.
Cliff Chancey
