The Chanceys I am looking for have been in Florida since the mid 1800s. My Grandfather, Augustus Chancey, was married to 2 different women from the Live Oak area. I suspect that we are also related to the Chanceys in Manatee County from the community of Duette. It is rumored that we are related to Robert E. Lee Chancey who was mayor of Tampa in the 1920s. His "bio" indicates that he was from Georgia. He has most commonly been referred to as a cousin, however, I have no links.
My Grandfather's Father died when my Grandfather was in his early teens and a lot of the history died with him.

Any information would be appreciated. You never know where the information you think today is unrelated, and tomorrow becomes critical.

Thanks,
Jim
