Joshua B Chance b IL 1857

Not sure if anyone can help. My gg-grandparents William Phillips and Margery Chance lived in Pike and Gibson Co, IN but had one son (Joshua B) who was born in IL in 1857. The family was in Indiana for both 1850 and 1860 censuses. I'm not sure why they were in IL or for how long. Margery's parents were Samuel Chance (b 1820 OH) and Nancy Wilson (b 1825 PA). Do any IL Chances have any information on these ancestors?
