Philadelphia Charles Chance b 1825

can't find any record of Charles in PA as yet, most probably was a Quaker as he carried a bible into the Civil War. Was devout as my grandfather Thomas, was very brought up in strict manner. He divorced his first wife after returning from war I think because she gave bith to a child that was not his. Eliza had given him at least 3 children Joseph, John and Elizabeth. I think the boys went with him she kept the daughter and shows up in later census' with child Ida Chance that was probably the reason for the divorce, assumption at this point. Still trying to determine the dates he was at war and am more interested in finding Charles' parents back in Philly PA and any siblings he may have had. There are many Chances in the Jersey area where he settled but with out his parents to determine lineage can't link him with other Chances.
Thanks for the long read
Barbara
