Sourcer: Daniel L. Chance (chance@cyberscope.net), of Orange, Tx. (letter to me dated 3-11-05).. Daniel reports there is no grave marker for this couple (3-11-05). Daniel adds: "Lumberton, which is named in this article was once called, Chance, Loeb in the early 1940's I recall living there a short time when I was about 4 yrs old.. There is still a road connecting Hwy 96 and 287, 69 which is called Chance cutoff. These roads fork into seperate directions and was called, and still is by many, The Kountze-Silsbee "Y".. That is where most were settled at that time.. It is the southern- most part of Hardin County, just above Jefferson, County, Beaumont.. " (EC: TEXAS) I have more data from other researchers and will see if you have posted your personal e-mail address here so I can send you those letters personally.... since these include sources of other researchers who may not want their names publicly listed.
