I am researching a piece of real estate located in the white shoals / beech grove community of Rose Hill, VA 24281. The house property was believed to have been sold by Mr. Parrott to Mr. Melvin O. Combs and Amanda Chance who is believed to have lived there in 1896 when a family member Millard Combs was killed in a shootout and buried in the cemetery. I am desperately trying to find any old pictures of the log home that still stand there today. There is a cemetery on the same property that has King, Bledsoe, Parrots, Combs, Garretts, and many others. People believed to own the property at one time or another are: Jones, Garrett, Coldiron, Combs, and Parrott. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
