Rebecca CHANCE was born Oct. 18, 1797. She married Aquilla Attix from Kent County, Maryland on April 1, 1813 (in Seneca County, NY. ?) They had sons: William Chance ATTIX born Aug. 26, 1816; John DeMott ATTIX born Oct. 27, 1825; Abram Slaight ATTIX born Dec. 16, 1832; Thomas Franklin ATTIX born May 2, 1836; all in Lodi, Seneca County, NY. You will note that the family used ancestors' surnames for sons' middle names. I suspect that Rebecca CHANCE had a mother, grandmother, or other ancestor, with the surname SLAIGHT, or FRANKLIN, who married a father (or other ancestor) CHANCE. Any help out there?
