My chance relatives are all gone except for the imeadiate family. The older members do not remember Past John Nelon Chance born in LA 3-27-1889. His parents were John P. Chance and Margaret Garlington. I seem to be at a stand still and am looking for all the relatives I can possibly find. I know that Frank Nelon was born in TX and that his mother's relatives (Smith) reside in the Hamlin, TX area. John Nelon was married to Virginia "Virgie" Wallace Smith 1-6-1911 in either AL or LA. I assume LA because that is where John Nelon was born and Virgie's parents migrated from St. Claire County, AL just before the Civil War. From there they moved to TX in 1895 near Ennis, moving to Kaufman county a few years later and from there to West Texas near Hamlin in 1907. A John Chance shows in the Texas Census in 1910 and again in 1920. Margaret does not show in TX until 1920, which is the year that Frank Nelon was born in TX. Sometime between Frank's birth and his children's births they moved to Tyler, Brownsboro,Chappel Hill, Smith County, TX area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I am more than willing to share any info I have on my connecting relatives. I have about 2100 people in my tree right now and am only missing the Chance relatives circa 1889
