Dear Kevin,

There are some other Chances in Tennessee during this time-frame. My husband's line from Jos. Bell and Nancy Chance were living in Wilson Co., Tn. in 1800, at the time of his birth. In 1831, this family came to Texas with S. F. Austin's Third Colony. Jos. Bell Chance's siblings split to various parts of the country, but his parents and siblings (James Wiley,b. 1802, had 16 children, but no Thomas, however) (little information on Elijah who married in 1840 in Maryland) had to have been in Wilson Co., Tn. in 1800. Your Thomas could be from any of these other siblings.
