Hi Bob. My Champions are mostly from and still live in Cleveland/Gaston/Rutherford Counties for several generations. However, I am stuck with my gggggrandparents. They are Robert C. "Robbin" Champion, born approx. 1815 somewhere in SC (probably a NC/SC border county), and Salena Ledbetter. Their children included George Harmon Champion, b. 1839, who may have married three times, once to Suzannah Putnam, and one was a Hamrick, I think. (Not sure which was blood relative, but I think it was Suzannah.) Their children included James Robert "J. R." Champion, who married Mary Jane Lovelace. Their offspring included Thomas Albert Champion, sr., married to Bessie Reynolds, of SC. Their children included Thomas Albert Champion jr. who married Lillian Ida Falls. This is my line down to my paternal grandparents. I am stuck with Robert's parents and pretty much any of the wives, other than Lillian. Do you know of any of these Champions or their spouses?
