hello, Cathy. My great great father's name is either Micajah or Thomas Jefferson Champion. Both have surfaced during my researching. The LDS has him listed as Micajah, also known as Mac.

George W, Champion, my greatgrandfather, was born in Benton County, Al. Later Benton was renamed Calhoun County, I believe. He was born in 1833. In 1836, his father, either Micajah or Thomas Jefferson, died in an accident. His wife and George's mother, Phoebe Burris, then moved her family of 3 sons to Tenn.

Do any of these dots connect for you? I would love to learn more as I have been stuck here for several years.
