my 7th great grandfather is William Champion d 1816 york sc. I am not from Jacob Champion's line, but I had remembered seeing his full name on a document in the South Carolina Archives. I hope this helps clear things up. You can request a copy of the document if you are not satisfied with the validity of the information on the archives web site.
