The family Bible that was passed to me by my father (Thomas Eric Champion), was previously owned by my grand-father (Thomas Freeth Champion - born 24 Dec 1871 at Tewkwsbury County of Gloucester, England)and prior to that to his (T F C)grand-father (James Josiah Champion of Sandhurst, Gloucester).

It seems as though the James Josiah C born in 1832, Berkely Gloucester is in fact the one mentioned in the family Bible. The information regarding his siblings and parents is most interesting. I will attempt to trace through the 1841 census.

Thomas Freeth Champion married Malvina Amelia Thomas (b 30 Mar 1874 at Birmingham)on 25 July 1898 at St Peter's church, Wolverhampton, and I have a chart of this family name and "Smith" (M A Thomas's mother was a Smith)back to the Great Fire of London. This chart has been in the family for many generations.
