Willis Champion was from North Carolina born about Aug 1765. Married Sally Pipon. His brothers were John and Thomas and sisters Elizabeth and Nancy.
"Willis Champion was a farmer. He went to Livingston Co. KY in 1806. Sallie and Willis had 13 children. Willis Champion was a neighbor of the Taylors-C.A.P.Taylor always kept a great deal of money at home. Once when he was coming from Market, Willis Champion saw two men who were waiting to waylay the Taylors. Arming all the men of the farm, they escorted the Taylors home and guarded the house through the night." Fannie Champion.

Willis left NC as early as as 1806, immigrating to Livingston County, KY and settling near Salem Village.
