David:

Very good. I look forward to hearing what you find out and would like to see what you have on the church in Livingston. My email is jtkoenig@yahoo.com

I also did some more digging into online cemetery records and can find no Champions whatsoever in Hardeman County, TN cemeteries, and I do not find any early Champions in Tippah County, MS cemeteries either.

I guess they could still be there, just not indexed, as has been the case with other relations of mine here in Texas, or the older Champions (William, Drury and perhaps Catherine's husband William) could have gone elsewhere, maybe back to Livingston County, KY.

This might make sense for the older two, but I cannot see William leaving Catherine to go elsewhere when she had at least two young daughters (Edith and Jane) when he disappears from the records, which is why it is likely he simply died and his burial is not easily located [since William Champion, the younger, disappears from the records bewteen 1828 and 1840, he likely did not fight and die in the Civil War, as may have been the case with James M. Champion).

I also cannot locate James M. Champion or Parthenia Anderson Champion's burials in Tippah County, MS, although it seemes that they both died there, unless James died in the War (Parthenia sometime after the 1870 census and James M. sometimes after the 1850 census) since it is only after Parthenia dissappears from the census data (between 1870 and 1880) that her children, James Greeley Champion, Amanda Adaline Champion Pinson, Irena Francis Champion Dycus, Eliard D. Champion and Leander M. Champion and their families all show up in Ellis and Navarro County, Texas in the 1870 and 1880 censuses.

I also cannot locate the burials for my GGGrandfather, James Greeley Champion or his wife Mary Jane Tidwell Champion, both of whom it would seem died in Navarro County.

If you have any data on any of these missing burials, please let me know.

Regards, JT
