Champion - HALIFAX NC and WARREN GA

Greetings... I am glad to see everyone having such fun.
We've sorted through a lot and continue to...keep posted for the results. I was disappointed to find that my ancestor, James W. Champion b. 1792 SC, m. 1814 Warren GA, is not the son of John & Keziah (an LDS error). I am having fun sorting out this family, but it is not my family (directly) so on to the business at hand.
FIRST, is anyone working on the Champions living in WARREN County GA between 1800 and 1820? They were a small group, just James, a Murphy, and a John (whose name is on a Rev. War monument there apparently).
SECOND, I believe that John came from HALIFAX County NC. This is a pretty big family, and if you believe Boddie, you can trace it back to Edward Champion of Bristol, 160?-1668, who came to Isle of Wight. There are several Johns in Halifax about the right time; my current suspicion is the one who married LUCY HART. Can anyone help?
