This is the first time I have used this site, but I think I might have some useful information for you. You had mentioned a William L. Champion married to Rachael Ann Powell. There marriage is the starting point of my family tree. But, we have some differences. First, I have William LUKE Champion, b. 1825, Georgia, m. Aug. 13, 1846 to Racheal Ann Powell in Bibb County, AL. Rachael Ann d. March 1858. William remarried again to Rachael L. Thompson Feb 2, 1860 in Shelby Co. Then, I have a lot of other records from William/Rachael #1's decendants. Who knows... we might be related.
