My Canadian roots start with a John Champion who was born in
1782, came to PEI, Canada in 1801 and died there in 1871.
He was married to a Barbara Warren in 1801 or 1802 and they had
several children. I have no birthplace for this John C. but it
is thought that it might be someplace in Devonshire, England.
Another theory was that he came from Virginia, U.S.A.
It was also thought that he came to Canada with 2 brothers,
William and Benjamin. There is no record of either of this
William or Benjamin in Canada.
