Hello Michael Hamilton,
I have history on Peter and Felicita. We are Champions from Texas and before that Austria.
My Father, Grover F. Champion, (now residing in Memphis, TN) has done research on our side of the family.
The Champions arrived in the Rio Grand valley in 1846.Four brothers from Austria sailed the Atlantic in search of a new life. They left their oldest brother, Simon, to car for their widowed and aged mother.Albert, Peter, Nicholas and Andrew worked as seamen aboard a merchant ship leaving Rovigno D'Istra, just across the Adriatic Sea from Venice, Italy. The journey to the United States took three weeks.A younger bother, Joseph, followed later in 1855.Andrew left his brothers and South Texas for California during the 1849 "Gold Rush" in Sacramento.
I have no pictures but know that Peter and Felicita had approx. 13 children.
Please send me a pic to add to my family documentation, I can exchange more info with you.
Best regards,
Kathleen
