Hello again.

I am sorry not to have replied earlier but I have so little information about the American Champ names that I can be of very little help. I am mereley trying to pull together all the information which I obtain on the web into one data base. I, too, have no record of the birth/baptism of Thomas Champ b around 1831. My hunch is that Thomas was a son of Thomas b around 1789 who married sarah SHREVE in Pendleton County in 1823. I note that your Thomas appears in the Virginia 1850 census at Pendleton.
Robert J Ballantyne seems to be the expert on the American Champ lines. Can I suggest you try him, or maybe the Champ mailing list at rootsweb?
