Aaron J. Chamness was the son of Aaron and Mary (Bray) Chamness of Orange and Boone Counties, Indiana. Aaron Sr. was the son of John and Charity (Hayworth) Chamness and the grandson of Anthony and Sarah (Cole) Chamness (of Chatham County, NC). Aaron Sr. died about 1847 near Lebanon, Boone Co, Indiana.
Aaron J. married Rebecca A. Hamilton on December 22, 1849 in Boone County, Indiana. In the 1850 census they are listed in 7th District of Boone County. Aaron's mother Mary was living with them at age 60. Based on this census, both Aaron and Rebecca were born about 1846 in Indiana. There are no children listed in the 1850 census.
Thank you for sharing this information. I'm sure we would never have known what became of Aaron J.otherwise. Is there any indication in the records if his wife was still living at the time or if they had any children? Thank you again for sharing this.
