I am very interested in the CHAMPNESS family. I am researching the CHAMNESS family in North Carolina and England. ANTHONY CHAMNESS b. Feb 13 1712 married Sarah Cole in 1736 at Cane Creek MM in Ornge Co NC. I do know that Anthony came from England as a boy, kidnaped by a salor and brought to America. His parents were JOHN and ANN CHAMPNESS the spelling of the name was changed in America to CHAMNESS. Please share with me what information you have on this family. I have a book written by my GGgrand mother Emily CHAMNESS. It tells of all the family statring with John and Ann and how the boy came to America and the generations from there. It's called the HISTORY and GENEALOGY of the American Descendants of JOHN and ANN CHAMNESS OF LONDON ENGLAND published in 1922
Please contact me, margiec@sprynet.com with any information. I have lots of pictures of the family from David S. Chamness's children: Elma, Emily, Nereus, Mary, Hannah, and Elma. I will share what I have.
Thank You
Margie Cox
