Here is a follow up to my own message and is important to those who are looking for southern Chamness .... Upon further review, the very last paragraph of the book mentions that very little is know about Staphanus, the youngest of the family of Anthony and Sarah.
It states that he was probably born in 1764 and married a woman named Hannah (unknown maiden name). It also would appear that he and his children stayed in the south and it seems probable that the Chamness people of Georgia, Mississippi and other southern states are his descendants. He visited some children who lived in Tennessee. There is no data on any of his children. He died in 1858.
