Peggy,

I'm sorry, I thought I had given this to you a few years ago:

1850 Census: John W. Shamly 28M farmer, Born in NC
Orange Co Angeline 23
NC William 10 (1840)
Frances 8
Hawkins 4F
Wiley 2
Alfred 1 (b. 1849)

1860 Census, Orange Co, NC, page 471, dwelling #1132:
John W. Shambly 40 laborer $50 b. NC (1820)
Angeline 41 (1819)
William 20 (1840)
Francis 17 f
Hawkins 15 m
Gaston 13 m
Kitchen 11 m
Ellison? m
Clara 7 f
Sallie 4 f

NOTE: In dwelling #1075 it shows a "Gaston Shambley 10, and Kitchen Shambley, 7" living with the William A. Wright (50 yrs) family. Wright was a "tobacconest" and born in Virginia.

To find Angeline's maiden name it is done by going thru all the land, estate and other records. The records will show an interaction with her family somewhere. Also, it's best to scope out the neighbors for possible intermarrying--because that is how they did it!

D'Ann
