D'ANN,
We looked @ a lot of graves in the cemetary. Charity Chamblee's is buried at the foot of her mother and father. On the tombstone says she was a "Consort" to Jacob Shamble. I believe this spelling was wrong, but I don't know how the name changed in the next generation. I looked up the word consort and it's meaning was "companion or wife or husband".

Also there are a lot of Eatmons and Eatman in this cemetary, which seem to be related to the Chamblees.
Also my Dad told me he remembers his grand-father William Gaston. He said that William crossed a river (Tom BigBee or Sipsey) not sure, with his first daughter Annie (Strickland's Daughter) on his back and holding onto a horse's tail. It was told the reason he came to Mississippi was because of killing a (Black and White couple) in a house by burning down the house. I don't know all the details.

How can I contact Jack Chamblee in Alabama? If you can provide that I would appreciate it.

Thanks, D'Ann for all your hard work.
