I am not a researcher only a person lucky enough to have some family records that are very detailed. I am new to this hobby but I have taken to it like a duck to water.

At some time back (don't know when), someone sent out blank Family Group Record forms for each family to complete. Each of these records is written in different handwriting so I am guessing that a family member of each family completed the record. Cheryl, my better half and Chamblee connection, has kept them in a file and when I got interested, there they were.

I have family group records for Robert Carter Chamblee, Riley Fletcher and Mary Clayton Chamblee, as well as each of their children. These records show that there were four children; Jame Monroe married Martha Lucinda Cox, Virginia Catherine married Charles Jefferson Fogleman, William J., and Wilson Green married Annie Katherine Miller. William J. died at an early age (3 or 4) in Mississippi. The other three eventually settled in Kaufman and Van Zandt Counties, in Texas, just southest of Dallas.

These records show James Monroe's birth date in two places, 9 OCT 1854 and 10-9-1854. Those dates could be easily transposed.

Mary Clayton's parents are listed as Abner Smith Clayton and Sara Martha Barger. Sara Barger evidently came to Kaufman County, also.

I hope this helps someone.

Brad Scott
