I just came across your posting while researching my Holt family. In the 1850 census for 17th Subdivision, Blount Co., AL., I find Calvin 26 and Selene 21 Chamblee w/son Robert 1, in the houshold of my ggg-grandfather John Canie Holt. Two households down is Lucy L Chamblee 35, Obediah 16, Joseph 15, Mary 12, James 10, Nicholas 8 and Jasper Genuet (spelling may be off). My real interest was on Jasper Genuet, because John Canie's son John R. 15, married a Jane E. Genunet (spelling may be off), two years later. I am trying to connect these families to try to find out just who Jane E. Genunit was. I hope this helps you some and maybe someone can help me.
