My name is Mary Elizabeth Chamblee, but I'm still alive and have never lived in Memphis Tn. I married in the Chamblee family 41yrs. ago and have lived in Florida since the age of nine. I met my husband Elton Chamblee in 1958 at the age of eighteen and married him on February 23, 1959. I had no idea there ever was another Mary Elizabeth Chamblee. My mother's people are from Kentucky and Mary Elizabeth has always been in the family and usually given to the oldest girl for generations until now. We named our oldest daughter Cynthia Ann breaking the tradition. I didn't even know it was a tradition until after we had already named our daughter and my grandmother told me her twin sister's name had been Mary Elizabeth, as their mother's, as had her mother's, and as far back as they could remember. Perhaps one of my relatives married a Chamblee? I would certainly be interested in knowing your grndmother's maiden name. The name I remember most from Kentucky is Feltner. There is a couple more but I would have to ask my mother what they are. I wilave to do it while I can as my mother has dementia and her memories are fading more each day. Her maiden name was Adkins.
