James Monroe Chamblee's parents were Isham and Elizabeth Chaney Chamblee. James Monroe Chamblee was born in Blount Co., Al. and died after 1880, probably Lincoln County, TN (that is the last location I have for him and I have him living there as early as 1874-75, children born in TN as early as 1864). Isham Chamblee's parents were James B. and Chloe Massey Chamblee of Wake Co., NC. James B. Chamblee was the son of Robert Chamblee of Wake Co., NC. James Monroe Chamblee fought in Captain Skinner's Company under General Withers during the Civil War, enlisting on 10 Nov 1861. He was married to Adaline Gillian (Gilliand) whose father was Robert P. (T.?) Gilliand. I have her born ca. 1840 in Tennessee. Their marriage date is 27 Aug 1857 at the home of her father. I am speculating that the Gillian family is from Lincoln Co., TN and James and Adaline moved back up there after the War. This county was a stopping off place in the early 1800's (1800-1830) for many of the Blount Co., Al. pioneers. James M. and Adaline had the following known children: 1. Sena (Assenath) b. ca. 1858, Blount Co., Al. 2. Baby (name unknown), b. ca. Dec 1861, Blount Co., Al. 3. Martha A., b. ca. 1864, TN 4. Cordelia C., b. ca. 1866 TN 5. Irene, b. ca. 1868 TN 6. William Franklin, b. ca. 1876 TN If you have any additional data on this line I would love to have a copy of it.
