I am looking for William Chambers b. 1804 NC who is possibly the son of Thomas Chambers d. 1823 Allen Co KY.
William Chambers m. Sally McReynolds 1825 Allen Co KY. In a 1834 Allen Co KY deed, William is mentioned, but he is not listing in Allen or neighboring counties.
Looking at logical migration routes from Allen Co KY west, many Allen Countians settled in western KY or further west in IN and IL during the 1830s. In 1830 Calloway Co KY I found a William Chambiners with 6 children under 10. This could possibly be the same William if there was a wife before Sally McReynolds. He is the only other Wm. Chambers given in KY other than one more in Rockcastle Co KY in the eastern part of the state.
By 1840 there is a William Chambers in Fulton Co KY, a neighbor to Calloway, with 3 daughters. This may or may not be the 1830 Calloway Co KY Chambers.
In 1850 Hickman Co Ky (cut off from Fulton), a William Chambers fitting the age and state of birth as the William I am searching appears with wife Eleanor, but the children do not match the 1840 Fulton Co census.
In Owsley cemetery records, located in Hickman Co KY, is buried Eleanor Harry Bard Chambers and son Alfred. In the Vital Statistics for that county is given Alfred and children of a son and daughter of William and Eleanor.
The puzzle. The people mentioned in the cemetery and vital statistics do not appear in census records post 1860 although their deaths occurred 1888.
I have done all state searchs for these people in Ancestry with no success.
Is there anyone researching this family that can help resolve this puzzle? I am a descendant of Thomas Chambers daughter Lucy Chambers Oliver.
