I believe this William Chamberlin was a Colonial in the Revolutionary War from East Amwell, Hunterdon County, NJ His father would be Lewis Chamberlin and mother Lecretia Woolsey. Lewis was a Judge in Hunterdon County in the early to mid 1700's. William's house still stands in Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, NJ. Me moved to the area that you reference after the war where he lost his son during the war.
