Chamberlin Family Genealogy Forum

Thank you, William, for posting this alert. On April 15, 2011, Linda Merlino alerted me by Email about this same Chamberlin family Bible for sale on eBay for $175.00; my 16 Apr Email to numerous leaders of the World Chamberlain Genealogical Society alerted them, in turn. Some of these individuals have in the past purchased bibles such as this on eBay, but I'm guessing that this Bible is just too expensive! My research here shows this Nathan Chamberlin, born 1808, New Hampshire, to be a previously unidentified individual (not identified in any other Chamberlin records), who appears in 1837, 1840 & 1850 Census with his family in New Durham, Strafford Co., NH, a farmer. Several other Ch'n families are listed elsewhere in New Durham and nearby Alton [some of which I've researched extensively - see my recent article in the WCGS newsletter, The Chamberlain Key], so he is probably related to one or more of them somehow. Intensive research in New Durham local records might well reveal his origins. In 1860, Nathan is listed with his family in Winona Co., Minnesota, and in 1870 in Ottawa Twp., Le Sueur Co., Minnesota. I've not traced this family's whereabouts after that time. In addition to Nathan, born 1808, and his wife Martha Burnham, born c1807 in New Durham, NH, census data list 5 children: Francis A?, b. c1838; Charles A., b. c1839; Edward, b. 1842; Cyrus, b. c1846; and Henry, b. c1848 - all born NH. Anyone who knows anything more about this family is invited to contact me via Email: jbparker@provide.net.
