Hello Carol - in my 2006 GenForum posting I invited interested persons to contact me via Email for further detailed discussion of this line, and you are still welcome to do so.To answer your specific questions here, regarding Thankful Adams and Sarah Adams, here's what I have listed.Deacon Aaron Chamberlain's wife, Thankful Adams, born 24 Nov 1725, Chelmsford, Middlesex Co., MA, died 2 Apr 1790 there, is listed as the daughter of Joseph and Mary Adams - information from Chamberlain Association News, Vol. 6, No. 3, 1986 [this is the newsletter of the second Chamberlain Association of America, which existed between c1979 and c1993].Thankful died "aged 60 years" at Chelmsford, MA, according to Prentiss Glazier [the leading Chamberlain genealogist of the last generation], and was buried 3 Apr 1790 in (?) cemetery in Chelmsford.Another, later researcher, the late David Conrad Chamberlin Sr. - the leading Chamberlain genealogist of my generation here in North America - lists her birth date as 13 Nov 1729, which is more likely correct. This gives you two different birth dates with which to trace her. That's all I know about her, except that I have 12 children recorded for this couple. After her death, Aaron Chamberlain married twice more.
Regarding Sarah Adams, wife of Aaron Chamberlain, Jr. (21 Sep 1753 - 10 Oct 1835), she was born 18 Sep 1760, Chelmsford, and died 16 Dec 1835, probably Grand Isle, Vermont. She is listed as the daughter of John & Sarah (Adams) Adams.Information fromChamberlain Association News, Vol. 10, No. 1, 1990 and from Chamberlain Families of Early New England and of New York, c1973, by Prentiss Glazier.Glazier notes that the Chelmsford Vital Records are probably in error in calling the mother of the last four children in this family "Mary."The Adams Genealogy [not seen by me] lists 8 children. She was perhaps the sister of Samuel Adams, her brother-in-law, though this appears unlikely.According to Chamberlain Association News, Vol. 11, No. 1, p. 13, she is supposedly the granddaughter of Timothy & Dorothy (Chamberlain) Adams [I've not checked this out, but assume you will do so].This Samuel Adams, born 9 Sep 1747, Chelmsford, married Thankful Chamberlain, b. 12 Nov 1751, Chelmsford, eldest daughter of Deacon Aaron Chamberlain and Thankful Adams. There is confusion in the records as to his identity, but he is generally listed as the son of Samuel Adams & Esther Perham [or Esther Parker].He was a Revolutionary War patriot - serving early on, in the battle of Bunker Hill.
So, I can discuss this information with you in more detail if you wish, via Email.I'm not an Adams genealogist, so you will no doubt wish to consult with Adams family experts concerning the persons I've named here.Sincerely, James B. Parker
