I've had this family listed previously in my Chamberlain research records here, but, after seeing your GenForum posting today, with a couple of hours checking, I was able to add more to these records. Since your name is Erika Birtler, I presume that you are related to the Birtler whose family tree appears in Ancestry.com - that record contains considerable information about this family and its descendants, I do see. The 1850 census data show that David Chamberlain was born c1797 in Pennsylvania, and, judging by the 1830 & 1840 census data for him in Hanover Twp., Beaver Co., PA, David and Jane Bradley were married by 1825, since they have two young sons and two young daughters listed in 1830, most of whom are presumed to have died young. Evidently David died in 1859, probably in Wellsburg, Brooke Co., West Virginia, and Jane died June 1874, perhaps there as well. I have 9 children listed for them, between 1831 and c1843, plus son George (birth date unknown), who is probably one of the four children born before 1830. So, yes, it does appear that they had at least 12 children in all. Son David Charles Chamberlain, whom you mentioned as your grgrgrandfather, was born 9 Oct 1837 in Beaver Co., PA, and died in 1918, in Pretty Prarie, Reno Co., Kansas, according to the Ancestry.com Family Tree (you have the death place listed as Hutchison, KS). I see nothing, at present, to allow me to trace this Chamberlain famiy's ancestry on back. But it is significant to note that Beaver Co., PA was part of Washington Co., PA, prior to 1800, and that Hanover Twp., where they lived had been in Washington County. There are lots of Chamberlains listed in Washington Co., PA between 1790 and 1820 - the George Chamberlain listed in Hanover Twp. in 1820 there might be related - he is much older, born between 1775 and 1794. Please do contact me via Email if you wish to discuss this information in greater detail, and what might be done to make more progress on tracing the ancestry, beginning with research through GenWeb online in Beaver and Washington Co., PA. Also, David's death & burial place, with death record and obituary, if any, should be searched for in Brooke Co., WV, together with similar death data for his wife Jane.
