In 1800, Joseph was listed in the 1800 census as living at Tunbridge, VT, heading a family of 0101-1201 (one male aged 10-15 years, one female under 10 years, and two females aged 10-15 years). In 1810, of the same place he headed a family of 00001-00001, which indicated he and Rebecca were living alone.
He applied for a pension in 1818. He died intestate as his estate was distributed in 1820.
His widow Rebecca was listed in the 1820 census at Tunbridge, heading a family of 0-00101, indicating that her daughter Betsey was living with her.
