I've examined each of the Census listings (microfilm images in Ancestry.com) from 1930 back to 1880, with the following results:

You are welcome to discuss this information with me via Email, to see what else can be done to trace this Chamberlain family.Initially, if you have not already done so, you should attempt to obtain death, obituary, burial records for James and Rose, who were said to have died 1934, perhaps in Streator, LaSalle Co., IL.I'll be interested to hear what you have found.
