I have searched each of my research databases, and the IGI, but have nothing to add to the information posted by Judy Richardson and by you in several postings on this subject in Chamberlain & Grafton GenForum sites.I am a bit puzzled by your recent postings, however - in one you say that Sarah/Priscilla Grafton eloped with John Chamberlain, who was "a poor man, a draper", according to letter written by Frances Elizabeth Daley Bosteder in 1888.But now you say that she eloped with Sir William Chamberlain, aka Sir John Chamberlain, son of Lord Chamberlain, which doesn't sound like the same person to me.I do not have a copy of Comp. Amer. Gen. here (you cited Vol. 7, p. 708), but would be interested to know what specifically what it says, or what other sources you have for this family, to confirm this lineage and provide additional identifying data for any of these individuals.
You may also wish to contact Philip J. Chamberlain [Email: [email protected]], one of the the World Chamberlain Genealogical Society's coordinators for English ancestries, to see if he can be of any help.
